About

I’m Lia, I live in Cardiff and love sharing all the great flavours of Korea with anyone who is curious about Korean cooking. I grew up in Germany and moved to the UK for university and I never returned!

One way for me to connect with my Korean heritage is through food. My entire family lives in Korea, including my mum who moved back a some years ago. With not many authentic Korean restaurants around, the only way for me to eat my favourite dishes again was for me to cook them myself.

I always cooked your typical jjigaes and kimbabs before but I never ventured into the more involved dishes like gom tang (bone broth soup that take hours to cook) or trendy dishes like cheesy dakgalbi (spicy chicken).
I wanted to show you how easy it is to cook authentic dishes, because it may be a bit daunting to cook something with ingredients you never heard of before. Luckily, most Korean food uses very few specific and fairly cheap ingredients. Once you have those staples, you can make most of the recipes on this blog.

Share your cooking with me on Instagram or Twitter – embeds, feeds and follows below!
Let me know of dishes you would like to see here!
